Recognition of Clintec’s success in International Trade with a visit from The Rt Honourable Liam Fox MP, UK Secretary of State for International Trade.

Dr Liam Fox, who studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, met with Clintec’s CEO and founder, Dr Rabinder Buttar, and her Executive Leadership Team to discuss the promising future for Scotland’s rapidly growing life sciences sector. The result was over an hour of productive discussions on the future of drug development and the place for UK companies, such as Clintec, in recognising and acting upon emergent new international business opportunities.

According to the Department for International Trade (DIT), Scotland’s thriving life sciences sector, employs over 37,000 people across 700 organisations, will continue to play a key role in not only attracting global investment into the UK but helping to grow UK life sciences exports which are already worth over £32bn annually. The UK has one of the most vibrant and productive life science sectors in the world and Scotland is home to one of Europe’s largest cluster.

On this visit Dr. Fox was interested to hear from Dr. Rabinder Buttar, about the history of the company, and the philosophy underlying how the company constantly strives to meet client expectations even from the earliest stages of the company’s establishment.

Clintec’s entrepreneurial development into a truly global mid-sized CRO operation over the last 20 years provides the Executive leadership with a unique perspective on the future development of areas such as the position of the UK being at the forefront of drug development, and how UK DIT could provide additional international support, possibly harnessed in policy and guideline development, for high-growth companies such as Clintec.

Clintec is not only breaking new ground in global expansion, we are also proactively addressing the evolving developments in data privacy compliance, and the opportunities arising from the future changes in relationship of the UK with the European Union. The meeting was an informative discussion for all involved around the expectations of the role of UK government in supporting client relationships through this transition.

Clintec would not be where it is today without the great work of our dedicated staff. Dr. Fox took the opportunity to meet with staff being recognised for 10 years’ company service and to tour the Clintec offices.
