Dr Rabinder Buttar was delighted to attend the key note speech and reception on November 12th with the Indian Prime Minister The Honourable Shri Narendra Modi and the UK Prime Minister David Cameron at the Old Library Guildhall, to hear how trade and investment between both countries can be promoted and strengthened. Dr Buttar, CEO and founder of the innovative, award-winning Clinical Research Organisation Clintec International, is supportive of growing links between both countries, and already operates dynamic CRO operations in India.
Prime Minister Modi in his speech remarked on the longstanding partnership between India and Britain commenting on the common values and visions shared between the citizens of India and Britain that will continue to create opportunities and create one of the leading global partnerships. Mr Modi went on to highlight the collaborations underway and to come across the energy, defence, finance, technology and science sectors which are being strengthened by the new investment deals being signed, which will support both countries to continue to tackle important issues such as climate change and defence. Mr Modi said the UK and India were “two strong economies and two innovative societies” but he said their relationship “must set higher ambitions”.
It was announced that £9 billion worth of deals was to be signed between the 2 countries during Mr Modi’s visit. This included substantial investment in new health care initiatives from Kings College in India along with green infrastructure, access to entrepreneurial finance, communications and energy infrastructure.
